What coaching is, and what it is not

Divorce Compass is coaching. Coaching helps you think clearly about what you want and plan your next steps. It does not replace other kinds of help.

Coaching can help you

  • Notice what you feel and what you want
  • Separate what you feel, what may be useful to believe, and what you can check
  • Prepare for difficult conversations
  • Get organised and think about practical next steps

Coaching is not

  • Therapy or counselling
  • Legal advice. For that, speak to a solicitor.
  • Financial advice. For that, speak to a regulated financial adviser.
  • A crisis or emergency service

Our approach

  • We don't steer you towards divorce and we don't pressure you to stay.
  • Your feelings are valid information. You may see your situation in a particular way, and that is your view.
  • We keep three things apart, what you feel, what may be useful to believe, and what you can check.
  • We don't blame or shame anyone.

If you'd like other kinds of support, see help and safety.
